Rick began his real estate journey on July 1, 1977, right here in Louisville, Kentucky. At the time, he was a local teacher helping fellow educators buy and sell homes — back when real estate was more handshake than contract. As the market grew, Rick’s honesty, professionalism, and hands-on approach quickly made him one of the most trusted names in town.

By 1986, Rick was named the Top Century 21 agent in Kentucky, and just a year later, he became Vice President of Edelen, Edelen & Shaw. After nearly two decades of serving clients across Louisville, Rick decided to follow his dream and open his own locally owned brokerage.

In 1995, Rick Shaw Realtors was born — a small, community-based company built around personal relationships, face-to-face service, and a commitment to putting clients first.
